Iran says 14 killed, 78 injured in recent U.S. strikes

Published on: July 9, 2026 4:07 PM

Fourteen people were killed and 78 injured during recent U.S. strikes on Iran, Iranian health officials said. The attacks deepen regional tensions after both countries exchanged military strikes across the Gulf. Civilians, security personnel, and neighboring states are directly affected by the escalating conflict.

Iran’s Ministry of Health said 47 injured people remain hospitalized following the attacks. Officials added the remaining victims were discharged after receiving necessary medical treatment. The ministry released the latest casualty figures after several days of reported U.S. military operations. Authorities continue assessing damage while hospitals monitor patients receiving ongoing care.

Meanwhile, the United States said it struck nearly 90 targets across Iran during overnight operations. Washington described the strikes as part of its broader military response to regional security threats. However, Iranian officials condemned the attacks and vowed to respond. Consequently, tensions between the two countries have risen further, raising fears of wider instability.

In response, Iran launched strikes on U.S. military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. Iranian military officials claimed the attacks targeted American facilities across the Gulf region. The exchange marked another significant escalation between the longtime rivals. Meanwhile, regional governments remain on high alert as concerns over additional military action continue to grow.

International observers are closely monitoring the rapidly evolving security situation. Diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions face increasing challenges as military exchanges continue. Analysts warn prolonged hostilities could threaten regional stability, global energy markets, and international shipping routes. Several countries have urged both sides to exercise restraint and prevent further escalation.
