Sindh govt lauds PPRP’s impact on Ghotki enterprises

The Spokesperson of the Government of Sindh, Sukhdev Sardas Hemnani, visited various business projects established under the Peoples Poverty Reduction Programme (PPRP) with the financial support of the Government of Sindh through the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) in District Ghotki.

The purpose of the visit was to review the impact of interest-free loans on businesses, employment, women empowerment, and sustainable economic development in rural areas.

Also present on the occasion were Regional General Manager SRSO Aamir Abbas Mangi, Senior District Manager Ashiq Ali Kalwar, Assistant Manager EDF Parveen Mehr, Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Zahid Ali, and other officials.

The Spokesperson of the Government of Sindh visited the Power Liner PV Inverter and Battery Charger Factory owned by Muhammad Adnan and Oam Parkash, which was established with an interest-free loan of Rs 70,000. The factory manufactures PV inverters and battery chargers and provides employment to 27 people, including women working in the electronic assembly section.

Later, he visited the Garments Tailoring Unit of Poon Kumar, which was provided with an interest-free loan of Rs. 1 million under the PPRP. The unit has now developed into a modern garments manufacturing enterprise and is providing employment to 37 local youth.

The Spokesperson also visited an Indoor and Outdoor Plant Nursery established with an interest-free loan of Rs 500,000. The nursery has expanded successfully and is providing quality ornamental plants while creating sustainable employment opportunities for local people.

On this occasion, Spokesperson of the Government of Sindh, Sukhdev Sardas Hemnani, said that the Government of Sindh’s Peoples Poverty Reduction Programme is playing a key role in promoting self-employment, business activities, job opportunities, and the economic inclusion of women in rural areas.

He added that PPRP, Sindh Peoples Housing for the Poor (SPHF), and other projects of the Government of Sindh are making significant contributions to poverty alleviation and socio-economic development across the province.
