Top ranked Pakistan to take on high flying Scotland in first T20 today

Published on: June 12, 2018 12:42 PM

EDINBURGH: High flying Scotland will take on the number one ranked T20 side Pakistan today at Edinburgh in what promises to be a highly exciting T20 match.

Scotland are coming into the game following their famous six run victory over England in an ODI at Edinburgh on Sunday.

Pakistan, meanwhile, are the number one ranked T20 team and consider the shorter platform their own domain. The match, therefore, promises to be a highly scintillating affair.

Pakistan are not taking Scotland lightly, with Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed saying,

“We were not taking them lightly even before the England match.”

There will, however, be a change in Pakistan’s team with Haris Sohail set to replace Babar Azam who broke his forearm in the test against England.

The match begins 8 p.m Pakistan Standard Time, with the second match also set to take place at Edinburgh on Wednesday, the 13th of June.

The teams are as follows:

Pakistan: Sarfraz Ahmed (captain), Ahmed Shehzad, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Rahat Ali, Usman Shinwari and Shaheen Afridi.

Scotland: Kyle Coetzer (captain), Richie Berrington, Dylan Budge, Matt Cross, Alasdair Evans, Craig Wallace, Michael Leask, Calum MacLeod, Hamza Tahir, George Munsey, Safyaan Sharif, Chris Sole, Mark Watt, Brad Wheal, Stuart Whittingham.
