ECP takes notice of Imran, Shehbaz, and Asif media talks during polling

Published on: July 25, 2018 1:54 PM

ISLAMABAD:  The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in a bid to ensure discipline of its code of conduct took notice of media talks of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif, and media talk of PML-N leader Khawaja  Asif  after casting their votes in respective constituencies.

The ECP said that the media talk of both leaders were against the code of conduct of the ECP.

The electoral body of the ECP has also directed the media to not air talks of the candidates during polling.

”Action will be taken as per law over the violation of the code of conduct of the ECP,’’ the ECP asserted.

Earlier this week, the ECP issued notification of its code of conduct during polling to be followed.
