LAHORE: ILM Trust Chairman and former vice chancellor of University of Management and Technology (UMT) Dr Hassan Sohaib Murad died in a tragic road accident near Khunjrab Pass today.
According to reports, the accident occurred when he was coming to Lahore after attending a seminar. His son Ibrhim Murad received serious injuries in the accident and was admitted to a hospital in critical condition.
Hassan Murad was a son of renowned Islamic scholar Khurram Murad.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Hassan.”May Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude,” the chief minister prayed in his condolence message.
UMT rector also condoled Hassan’s death saying: “Surely, we are Allah’s and indeed to Him we are returning. May Allah bless his soul, place him in heaven and give his family the courage to bear this great loss. We pray for the departed soul and extend condolences.”
Timings of Namaz-e-Janaza are yet to be shared.
