Barcelona reproduce Tiki-Taka with Messi goal

Published on: October 6, 2018 3:39 PM

Spanish champions Barcelona scored an amazing Tiki-Taka goal against Tottenham Hotspurs in UEFA Champions League group stage fixture, reminiscent of the golden days of the club.

Now for those who don’t know what Tiki-Tika is, it is a Spanish style of football known for short passing and movement working through various channels while keeping the ball in possession.

Barcelona defeated Tottenham 4-2 in Wembley on Thursday. The visitors scored their third goal via Lionel Messi that came as a result of 22 passes picked perfectly from the very start to the finish line.

What makes it even more beautiful is the fact that Barcelona’s passing tempo changed significantly as they circulated the ball around.

The first 18 passes were on the slower side, while just as the ball was collected by Leo Messi in the tight spaces he uses lurks around, the burst of pace and passing accuracy was just too much for the Londoners to handle.

It is safe to say that Barcelona has lost some of their firepower from Pep Guardiola days, but as they say ‘once a legend, always a legend’, the goal is a true representation of what Football Club Barcelona is all about, and there is no surprise why Tottenham were hypnotized.

Barcelona will face Valencia in round 8 of the Spanish La Liga on Sunday 11:45pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
