Karachi shaken again as 3.2 magnitude earthquake hits eastern areas

Published on: June 14, 2025 2:16 PM

Karachi experienced another mild earthquake on Saturday, with tremors felt in Landhi, Quaidabad, and Malir. According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 3.2 on the Richter scale. People rushed out of their homes in fear, chanting prayers as they gathered in open spaces.

This marks the 37th earthquake felt in Karachi in recent months, raising concerns among residents. Just moments before this latest quake, tremors were also reported in Landhi and Malir again, showing a worrying pattern of repeated seismic activity.

Earlier on June 8, 2025, two back-to-back earthquakes had struck Karachi’s eastern areas within one hour. Those tremors measured 3.5 in magnitude, spreading fear across the city. Many residents feared stronger quakes could follow and stayed outside their homes longer.

These repeated earthquakes have caused widespread panic in the city. People living in the affected areas are increasingly worried about their safety and are calling for authorities to take steps for earthquake preparedness.

Experts urge residents to stay calm but alert. They advise people to prepare emergency kits, stay informed, and be aware of evacuation routes. Although the tremors have been mild so far, the increasing frequency is a cause for serious attention.
