KARACHI – Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is not currently considering joining the federal government. He clarified that no formal invitation has been received from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) so far.
Speaking at a press conference, Memon said, “If a proposal is made in the future, the party might consider it.” However, at present, PPP’s focus remains elsewhere. He emphasized that any decision will be made carefully with the party’s interests in mind.
Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Memon acknowledged its political presence but urged respect for court rulings. He advised PTI leader Imran Khan to move away from negative politics and focus on constructive dialogue for the country’s benefit.
Memon also criticized PTI for damaging Pakistan’s image both inside and outside the country. He stressed that all political parties should contribute positively to national progress by practicing responsible politics.
Regarding the recent Swat tragedy, the minister warned against politicizing the incident. While supporting a thorough investigation into administrative failures, he opposed calls for removing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister.
He urged politicians to focus on accountability rather than scoring political points, stressing that national issues should be handled with maturity and seriousness to ensure justice and progress.
