OGRA cuts LPG prices: Domestic cylinder now costs Rs2,750

Published on: June 30, 2025 6:31 PM

ISLAMABAD: In a welcome move, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in LPG prices for the month of July. This cut is expected to benefit millions of households that rely on LPG for daily cooking and heating.

OGRA’s latest notification reveals that the price of LPG per kilogram has dropped by Rs7.43. This brings the new retail rate for an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder to Rs2,750.60, compared to last month’s Rs2,838.31.

The reduction amounts to a total decrease of Rs87.71 per cylinder. It follows OGRA’s monthly price adjustment based on global market trends and local distribution costs.

This decision comes at a crucial time, especially as household energy costs remain a concern in many parts of the country. Many families in urban and rural areas rely on LPG as their main cooking fuel.

While it may seem like a small change, this price cut is likely to bring some financial relief to lower- and middle-income families, who are already managing tight household budgets.
