Gandapur issues 90-day ultimatum for PTI founder’s release, warns of retaliation

Published on: July 13, 2025 12:04 PM

LAHORE – In a passionate speech at a PTI parliamentary meeting, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has given a bold 90-day ultimatum for the release of the PTI founder. Gandapur firmly stated that if his party workers were targeted or arrested, the party would retaliate strongly. He warned, “If you shoot at us, remember, you could also be hit by the bullets. Either you or we will not be here if the PTI founder isn’t released within 90 days.” The firebrand leader emphasized that his party leader is innocent, adding that there are no valid charges against him.

Gandapur continued to criticize Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of the JUI-F, accusing him of having a “fake mandate” and questioning his right to speak about removing the PTI government in KP. He suggested that Fazlur Rehman should focus on changing himself rather than trying to change the KP government. “You haven’t given us this government, so stop threatening to take it away,” Gandapur said defiantly, asserting that the PTI-led administration would not back down in the face of such challenges.

The PTI leader also expressed his discontent over the suspension of PTI Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) in Punjab, calling it an act of lawlessness. Gandapur stated that if these actions persisted, he would not hesitate to remove their chairmen in KP. He further underlined that PTI founder was still open to negotiations, urging the government to stop these unlawful practices. “Suspending PTI MPAs in Punjab is an unjust act, and we will take action if necessary,” he warned.

Toward the end of his speech, Gandapur led the PTI parliamentarians in raising slogans in support of the PTI founder and took an oath from them to launch a nationwide movement for his release. This move comes amid growing tensions and uncertainty surrounding the PTI’s position and the future of its leadership. The party is determined to secure its founder’s freedom within the set deadline, with Gandapur promising to take firm action if demands are not met.

As the political storm intensifies, PTI’s commitment to its leader’s release remains unwavering, with party leaders rallying around the ultimatum and pushing for their demands to be heard loud and clear. The next few weeks are set to be crucial in determining the future of the PTI and its leadership as it faces off with its political opponents.
