Shocking new clues surface in Humaira Asghar’s mysterious death

Published on: July 16, 2025 3:24 PM

KARACHI – Police have uncovered fresh evidence in the mysterious death of Pakistani actor and model Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered in her Karachi apartment earlier this month. Authorities now believe she may have died around October 7, 2024, months before her body was found on July 8.

According to investigators, her flat in Ittehad Commercial, Defence, was discovered locked from the inside. The door was double-locked, and her body was found in a room near the bedroom with the balcony door open. This setup has raised new questions about her final moments.

Further evidence suggests Humaira may have done laundry shortly before her death. Police found clothes in a bathroom tub and near the washing area, indicating she was likely going about normal daily activities before suddenly dying. Rent and utility bills had been paid up to May 2024, police confirmed.

Neighbours had reported a foul smell coming from the flat as early as December 2024. However, no action was taken until July, when a court bailiff entered the premises due to a landlord complaint about unpaid rent. The exact cause of death is still unknown and awaits chemical and medical examination results.

Investigators also found three mobile phones, a tablet, a diary, and several personal documents at the scene. Two phones were not password protected, and forensic analysis revealed Humaira had over 2,000 saved contacts and had communicated regularly with 75 different numbers.

On the suspected day of her death, Humaira contacted 14 people, police said. All three SIMs registered to her were active in the recovered devices, and digital data is now being thoroughly reviewed to help piece together her final hours.
