Olivia Rodrigo condemns Israel’s assault on Gaza

Published on: July 16, 2025 4:28 PM

Pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo has spoken out about the ongoing violence in Gaza, describing the situation as “horrific and completely unacceptable.” In a heartfelt Instagram message, she highlighted the devastating impact of Israel’s bombardment and the blockade of humanitarian aid on Palestinian families.

Rodrigo shared the heartbreaking conditions faced by innocent civilians in Gaza, including starvation, dehydration, and lack of access to medical care. She emphasized that no child—whether in Israel, Palestine, or anywhere else—should have to endure such suffering. “To give up on them is to give up on our shared humanity,” she wrote.

Along with her message, Olivia revealed she had donated to UNICEF to help support the victims of the crisis. She encouraged her millions of followers to also contribute if they can, to help provide relief to those affected by the violence.

Olivia Rodrigo is among several prominent artists speaking out in recent weeks. Lana Del Rey expressed daily prayers for Palestine, while Billie Eilish condemned Israel’s plan to forcibly relocate nearly two million Palestinians. Earlier this year, Dua Lipa joined hundreds of UK celebrities urging the government to stop arms sales to Israel.

This wave of support also includes actors and activists worldwide. Hollywood stars such as Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon have condemned the violence and called for an end to the suffering, reflecting growing international concern about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
