As a safety measure, the NDMA has urged residents living near Nullah Lai and in flood-prone areas to stay alert and prepared. In case of emergency sirens, citizens are advised to evacuate immediately and follow instructions from local authorities. The NDMA has assured that all relevant departments are working actively to take precautionary steps ahead of any emergency.
Moreover, heavy rain is also predicted in several other cities including Lahore, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad. Cities like Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Hafizabad are also on high alert. With these areas expecting intense downpours, there is a growing risk of overflowing rivers, streams, and urban flooding.
