Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari on Saturday strongly criticized Aleema Khan, calling her statements confusing and misleading. She said Aleema kept changing her stance on whether Imran Khan’s sons, Qasim and Suleman, were coming to Pakistan or not. At times, Aleema blamed their mother for stopping them, while at other times, she claimed visa issues were the reason.
Azma added that Aleema’s shifting statements lacked credibility. One moment she claimed the sons were being stopped, and the next she called them patriotic Pakistanis. “Such contradictory claims only show a lack of clarity and consistency in Aleema’s narrative,” Azma said.
The minister questioned the impact Qasim and Suleman could have, reminding that even Imran Khan, his third wife, and thousands of PTI supporters could not bring about a revolution. She said it was unrealistic to expect his foreign-based sons to topple the current regime.
Azma further pointed out that the two sons had recently travelled to the USA and then returned to the UK. “If they wish to meet their father, no one will stop them,” she said. “However, if they intend to create trouble in Pakistan, they will not be allowed to do so.”
She emphasized that since Qasim and Suleman are not Pakistani citizens, their involvement in political matters would be inappropriate. “If foreign citizens try to lead a political movement here, it would only embarrass PTI’s leadership in Pakistan,” she remarked.
Azma concluded by urging PTI leaders to stop spreading confusion through such claims. She said the government would not tolerate any attempts to destabilize the country, especially by individuals who do not even hold Pakistani citizenship.
