Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will visit Bangladesh starting August 23 to strengthen ties and improve coordination between the two countries. The visit marks a new chapter in diplomatic relations, with both sides eager to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration.
During his trip, Ishaq Dar is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on August 24. The agenda will likely include regional cooperation, economic partnerships, and joint efforts in international forums.
This visit was earlier scheduled for April but was postponed due to rising tensions between Pakistan and India after a violent incident in Indian-administered Kashmir. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry had announced at the time that the visit could not take place due to unforeseen circumstances.
However, both governments later held discussions and mutually agreed on new dates for the high-level diplomatic visit. This reflects a shared commitment to maintaining strong ties despite challenges in the broader regional landscape.
In addition to bilateral matters, both countries have recently voiced concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Palestine. They reaffirmed their solidarity with the Palestinian people, highlighting the importance of unity on global issues.
