Zelensky: Ukraine will never surrender Its land to occupiers

Published on: August 9, 2025 1:00 PM

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky strongly stated that Ukraine will never hand over its land to occupiers. He said any peace deal excluding Ukraine would oppose true peace. Zelensky made these remarks after US President Donald Trump announced plans to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska.

Trump revealed the upcoming meeting on social media and confirmed it publicly at the White House. This summit aims to address the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Many around the world await the outcome with keen interest. However, Ukraine’s direct involvement remains crucial for lasting peace.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready to seek a genuine peace agreement. Yet, he warned that excluding Ukraine from talks would harm peace efforts. He called on all parties to include Ukraine in all negotiations about its future.

On the other hand, Russian President Putin reportedly offered to end the war if Russia gains control over eastern Ukraine. This proposal has sparked controversy and concern in Kyiv and Western capitals. The international community watches closely as the summit approaches.

The Ukraine conflict continues to be a significant global issue. Leaders face pressure to find a lasting resolution. Still, protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territory remains essential to any successful peace deal.
