Jaffar express, Khuzdar attacks slammed in SCO declaration

Published on: September 1, 2025 5:44 PM

TIANJIN – The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has strongly condemned recent terror attacks, including the Jaffar Express bombing, Khuzdar blast, and the Pahalgam incident. In a joint declaration issued at the 25th SCO summit in Tianjin, member states also pledged to fight terrorism, separatism, and extremism through coordinated action.

The declaration highlighted the need for joint counterterrorism efforts and security cooperation across the region. SCO members signed agreements on establishing a universal data center and an anti-drug center. They also agreed to continue implementing the 2025–2027 Counter-Terrorism Cooperation Programme.

The SCO emphasized support for nuclear non-proliferation and equal access to peaceful nuclear energy. The document also called for full implementation of chemical and biological weapons conventions. It stressed the importance of global trade systems and opposed unilateral sanctions.

To strengthen economic ties, the summit endorsed boosting digital economy and e-commerce collaboration among members. Leaders also approved the formation of an SCO Development Bank to finance future initiatives and regional infrastructure.

The declaration urged an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Palestine and called for the swift delivery of humanitarian aid. SCO members reaffirmed their commitment to collective security, peaceful cooperation, and mutual respect in resolving global and regional challenges.
