Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has stated that CPEC Phase-II will further strengthen Pakistan-China partnership by expanding cooperation in ports, renewable energy, biotechnology, and the livestock sector. He emphasized that this new phase will open more opportunities for economic growth, technological advancement, and sustainable development, creating strong foundations for long-term collaboration between both nations.
During his visit to Tianjin, Ahsan Iqbal reviewed the Huan Sheng New Energy Solar Plant, which he described as a symbol of the fourth industrial revolution and a model of automation. He expressed that Pakistan aims to adopt such modern technologies in its energy sector, focusing strongly on renewable and green solutions to meet future challenges effectively.
Moreover, the minister stressed that solar and green energy represent the future of development, and Pakistan is committed to benefiting from Chinese expertise in these fields. He encouraged Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector, highlighting that such projects will not only ensure energy sustainability but also reduce costs and create employment opportunities.
In addition, Ahsan Iqbal underlined that biotechnology cooperation in agriculture will be a key priority under CPEC Phase-II, as Pakistan looks to increase productivity and efficiency. By creating new platforms for agricultural innovation, the country seeks to fully utilize China’s advanced technology and modern practices, ultimately benefiting farmers and strengthening food security.
The minister also visited an animal vaccine manufacturing company, where he invited them to establish a plant in Pakistan, calling livestock a vital pillar of the national economy. He said ensuring disease-free animals will help increase Pakistan’s meat exports significantly, adding that such steps will enhance global competitiveness and boost the country’s trade profile.
