Spirit of martyrdom has made Pakistan invincible: Khawaja Asif

Published on: September 6, 2025 7:37 PM

SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Saturday that the spirit of martyrdom has made Pakistan invincible. He made these remarks while addressing the main ceremony of Defence Day held at Jinnah Hall Fort, Sialkot. The event marked the historic memories of September 6, 1965, when Pakistan’s armed forces defended the nation against Indian aggression.

Speaking at the ceremony, Khawaja Asif highlighted that historic operations like “Bunyad-ul-Marsous” give new life to nations. He reminded the audience that during the 1965 war, Pakistan’s forces crushed the pride of a much larger enemy. He described September 6 as a golden chapter in the nation’s history, symbolizing courage, unity, and resilience.

The minister praised Pakistan’s armed forces for defending the country with their blood. He stated that their sacrifices have kept the nation safe and strong. He further said that the military protects Pakistan not only on geographical borders but also on diplomatic and economic fronts. According to him, this commitment ensures that Pakistan remains unshaken in the face of challenges.

Khawaja Asif emphasized that the Defence Day is not only about remembrance but also about renewal of commitment. He called it a day of pledge when the entire nation must stand with its forces. He urged people to remain united for the country’s safety and progress, stressing that unity is the key to national strength.

The ceremony in Sialkot was attended by officials, citizens, and veterans who paid tribute to the heroes of 1965. The event reminded everyone of the sacrifices that built the nation’s strength. With speeches and tributes, the day reinforced the message of resilience, faith, and unity, which continue to guide Pakistan forward.
