Pakistan, Hong Kong sign legal cooperation MoC

Pakistan and Hong Kong signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on Wednesday to strengthen legal ties. The MoC was signed during the 10th Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong. Federal Secretary Raja Naeem Akbar and Hong Kong’s Secretary for Justice Paul T.K. signed the agreement. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in legal affairs and capacity building. They also plan to promote arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

Furthermore, the MoC covers new areas like digital governance and virtual asset regulation. Akbar said the deal shows Pakistan’s commitment to modernizing its legal system. He added it will deepen cross-border partnerships under the Belt and Road Initiative. The cooperation aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and support institutional reforms. Both sides will work on legal and regulatory innovations to face global challenges.

The agreement marks a new chapter in Pakistan-Hong Kong relations in justice and legal reform. Both parties will launch joint initiatives and capacity-building programs. They want to address the fast-changing global legal environment together. This cooperation will help both sides adapt to emerging legal trends.
