
Washington – In a surprising address to senior U.S. military generals, U.S. President Donald Trump praised Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir for his critical role in preventing a possible nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India.
Speaking at the Department of Defense, Trump said he had ended seven wars during his presidency and had just resolved one more recently. Among those, he claimed the Pakistan-India conflict had the potential to escalate into nuclear war. He emphasized using trade diplomacy to de-escalate tensions and push both nations toward a peace agreement.

Trump revealed that Field Marshal Asim Munir, alongside Pakistan’s Prime Minister, had recently visited him. He said Munir acknowledged Trump’s role in saving “millions of lives” by stopping the war. Trump shared that Munir expressed deep appreciation, calling the president’s intervention a decisive move that averted disaster.
The president said he considered the Field Marshal’s praise a personal honor. He noted that Munir delivered those comments in front of two U.S. generals, highlighting the significance of the statement. Trump referred to Munir as a “very important figure in Pakistan,” acknowledging his growing global recognition.

Trump ended his speech by reaffirming U.S. military strength, especially in submarine capabilities, and reiterated his willingness to support the armed forces. However, he also challenged the generals, saying if they disagreed with his stance, they were free to “say goodbye to their positions.”
