Multimedia studio inaugurated at COMSATS University

The Department of Media and Communication Studies at COMSATS University Lahore Campus inaugurated a state-of-the-art Multimedia Studio in a graceful ceremony held today. The honorable Rector of COMSATS University, Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, graced the occasion as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the facility by cutting the ribbon. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad, Director COMSATS Lahore; Prof. Dr. Sohail Asghar, In-charge Islamabad Campus; Dr. Musfira Mahfooz, Head of Humanities; Dr. Sohail Riaz, Head of Media Studies; Registrar Shams-ul-Qamar; GM Rector Office Naveed Ahmad Khan; Controller of Examinations Sajjad Madni; Azam Khan, along with other faculty heads.

Following the inauguration, the Rector’s first-ever interview was recorded in the newly established studio. The session was hosted by Dr. Ayesha Mirza, marking the studio’s first production. On the occasion, the Rector congratulated Dr. Sohail Riaz and his team for their efforts in establishing the studio and extended felicitations to the faculty and students of the Media Studies Department.

In his address, Prof Dr Sajid Qamar stated that the modern facility will not only provide hands-on learning opportunities to students but also equip them with the skills necessary for success in the professional media industry. He further remarked that keeping in view the current needs of the industry, COMSATS Media Studies will produce the finest future directors and producers, and the department is destined to become the leading media studies faculty in Pakistan.

During his visit to the Lahore Campus, the Rector also reviewed progress on the university’s forthcoming 40-year vision and appreciated the presentation shared by the campus administration.
