According to the Foreign Office, the Peace Summit seeks to finalize a landmark agreement aimed at ending the humanitarian crisis and ongoing conflict in Gaza. The summit follows extensive diplomatic efforts initiated during the UN General Assembly’s 80th session in New York last month.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with senior ministers and officials.

Leaders from seven Arab-Islamic nations — including Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia, and Türkiye — are also attending the conference. These countries, together with the United States, have previously endorsed efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
Pakistan reaffirmed its long-standing support for the Palestinian cause, calling for the protection of civilians, release of prisoners, and reconstruction of Gaza.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed hope that the summit would pave the way for a complete Israeli withdrawal, an end to displacement, and progress toward an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders and in line with relevant UN resolutions.
