Trump: Netanyahu asked for weapons I’d never heard of

Published on: October 14, 2025 5:29 PM

US President Donald Trump made surprising comments during a speech at Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. He unexpectedly called for a general amnesty for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump claimed the legal cases against Netanyahu were political and unfair. His remarks were not part of his official speech but delivered spontaneously. The comments shocked many in attendance and quickly made headlines worldwide.

Trump also spoke about military cooperation between the United States and Israel. He said he provided Israel with some of America’s most advanced weapons. According to Trump, Netanyahu often called him personally to request more arms. He added that some weapons Netanyahu asked for were so advanced, even he had never heard of them. Trump praised Israel for using these weapons effectively in defense operations.

The president described the moment as a “new historic era” for the Middle East. He highlighted his administration’s strong support for Israel during his term. Trump also mentioned the role the US played in helping stabilize the region. He framed his relationship with Netanyahu as central to that effort. This part of the speech aligned with his past policies in the region.

Netanyahu is currently facing corruption trials in Israeli courts. Trump’s call for amnesty comes as the Israeli leader battles mounting legal pressure. His comments have sparked debate in both the US and Israel. While supporters say Trump is defending a key ally, critics argue he’s interfering in another nation’s judicial process. The controversy continues to unfold.

Overall, Trump’s speech reinforced his close ties with Netanyahu and Israel. It also reminded the world of his lasting influence on global politics. His remarks, especially about secret weapon requests, raised eyebrows across political and military circles. As reactions pour in, many are watching to see how both Israeli and American leaders respond.
