Bullish sentiments persist as PSX gains over 1,100 points

The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bullish trend on Tuesday, gaining 1,103.93 points, a positive change of 0.66 percent, closing at 167,346.83 points against 166,242.90 points on the last working day.

A total of 486 companies transacted their shares in the stock market; 216 recorded gains, 229 sustained losses, and 41 remained unchanged.

The total trading volume was 1,819.32 million shares compared to 1,478.59 million shares the previous day, while the traded value increased to Rs56.82 billion from Rs51.87 billion. The market capitalization rose to Rs19.27 trillion from Rs19.20 trillion.

K-Electric Ltd. led the volume chart with 547.32 million shares, followed by WorldCall Telecom with 260.92 million shares and Bank of Punjab with 128.92 million shares. The top advancers were PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which increased by Rs350.35 to close at Rs24,660.45, and Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited, which gained Rs266 to close at Rs29,900.

Supernet Technologies Limited and Gillette Pakistan Limited were among the major losers, declining by Rs83.20 and Rs32.81 to close at Rs1,713.03 and Rs530.18, respectively.

In the futures market, 321 companies participated, with 151 advancing, 169 declining, and one remaining unchanged.

K-Electric (OCT) led the futures volume with 85.21 million shares, followed by Bank of Punjab (OCTB) with 55.64 million shares and WorldCall Telecom (OCT) with 44.45 million shares.
