Karachi: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has rejected reports claiming cryptocurrency worth USD 850,000 was stolen at Jinnah International Airport. Authorities called the reports “baseless and unfounded” and urged the public not to spread misinformation.
The PAA said it immediately launched an inquiry in coordination with the Airport Security Force (ASF) and local police after the reports appeared on television and social media. Officials reviewed CCTV footage, airline records, and official documentation to verify the claims thoroughly.

The passenger, identified as Mr. Faizyab, alleged in a court petition that four uniformed personnel took him to a room, accessed his mobile phone, and stole his cryptocurrency. However, authorities found no evidence supporting these allegations and said the complainant did not report the incident at the time.
CCTV footage showed no suspicious activity, while airline records confirmed that the passenger did not board his scheduled flight to Peshawar. Police reports also verified that no theft took place at the airport, reinforcing the authority’s findings.
