FDE launches monitoring cell to boost school performance

Published on: October 31, 2025 5:19 PM

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has established a dedicated monitoring cell to evaluate the performance of schools nationwide. The new cell, based at FDE headquarters, aims to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation system and ensure schools meet academic and operational standards. This step is part of FDE’s ongoing efforts to improve education quality across the country.

Deputy Director General (Policy) will oversee the monitoring cell, while Imran Jahangir has been appointed Director of Monitoring. Hafiz Farhan Akram will serve as Assistant Director. The team will evaluate schools’ academic, administrative, and operational functions, collecting detailed data on student enrollment, attendance, and exam results to identify areas that need improvement.

The monitoring cell will also introduce key performance indicators (KPIs) for schools and create a schedule for regular field visits. Officials said this will help ensure schools are held accountable and improve overall institutional efficiency. Data-driven insights will guide FDE in making informed policy decisions for educational development.

Digital tools and dashboards will play a key role in the new system, enabling real-time reporting and monitoring. The cell will submit monthly and quarterly reports to the Director General of FDE, promoting transparency and evidence-based decision-making. All directors, AEOs, and heads of institutions have been instructed to cooperate fully with the cell.

FDE officials say the initiative will significantly improve educational standards in schools and ensure students receive better learning opportunities. By strengthening oversight and using modern monitoring techniques, the cell aims to create a more effective and accountable education system nationwide.
