Javeria Saud slams all Karachi haters, urges colleagues to change their rotten mindset

Published on: November 1, 2025 12:31 AM

Actress Javeria Saud has responded to fellow actresses Saba Qamar and Iffat Omar for calling Karachi “dirty,” saying that Karachi is not dirty – it is the mindset of such people that is.

A day earlier, Iffat Omar defended Saba Qamar’s dislike for Karachi by calling Sindh’s capital a “dirty city” in a post on X.

Earlier, Saba Qamar had said in a podcast that she does not like Karachi and only goes there for work, returning to Islamabad afterward. When asked if she had ever thought about moving there permanently, Saba Qamar said “Astaghfirullah” and added that she doesn’t like the city.

Her comments triggered backlash from social media users and several actors who criticised her remarks.

Now, Karachi-based actress Javeria Saud shared screenshots of Saba Qamar and Iffat Omar’s posts on her Instagram story, indirectly addressing them.

She wrote, “Karachi is not dirty; it’s the thinking of those who call it dirty that is filthy.”

Javeria further said, “Some people are making their own country look bad. Cities aren’t dirty – people’s thoughts are.”

She concluded by saying that she loves every corner of Pakistan, whether it’s Karachi or any other city.
