ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said on Saturday that Pakistan’s principled stance had been recognised by both the international community and neighbouring countries, marking a diplomatic breakthrough in regional relations.
Speaking to the media, Chaudhry announced that, for the first time, Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed in writing to establish a formal mechanism to address mutual concerns. He added that a detailed framework for this mechanism would be finalised on November 6.

Calling it a significant achievement for Pakistan, the minister said the written agreement demonstrates that both the world and regional states acknowledge Pakistan’s position on key security and diplomatic issues.
Chaudhry further remarked that Afghanistan has long acted as a proxy for India, claiming that evidence exists of terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil. He recalled that after the first ceasefire, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had also issued a statement naming Kabul as its enemy.

“If one’s hands are clean, there should be no hesitation in putting things in writing,” Chaudhry said, highlighting that the recent agreement was reached in the presence of two mediators and represents a new step toward transparency and accountability in bilateral relations.
