Punjab CM, governor felicitate Sikh community on Guru Nanak birth anniversary

Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan congratulated the Sikh community around the world on the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. He expressed his best wishes to the Sikh community on Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary.

Punjab Governor said that we stand together in celebration of the Sikh community’s joy. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to create a society that embodies peace and harmony.

Governor added that Baba Guru Nanak’s teachings have consistently promoted the values of humanity, love, and brotherhood. The Punjab Governor stated that the occasion is a testament to the shared values of humanity and peace. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to build a society that fosters peace and harmony. Governor highlighted Baba Guru Nanak’s timeless message of love, compassion, and unity.

Separately, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the Sikh community across the world on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

In her message, she warmly welcomed Sikh pilgrims arriving in Punjab with the traditional greeting ‘Ji Ayan Nu’. The CM said that Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a great advocate of humanity, love, peace, and brotherhood, whose teachings continue to guide mankind towards tolerance and harmony. She added that peaceful societies are built on the foundations of mutual respect and understanding, and Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message of sharing each other’s joys and sorrows remains timeless.

CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Punjab ensures equal rights and facilities for all citizens, irrespective of their faith, in line with the province’s inclusive vision. She said that efforts are being made to make this sacred land an example of peace, harmony, and tolerance.

The CM recalled that her participation in the Baisakhi festival at Kartarpur last year was a memorable experience and said that the provincial government has made comprehensive arrangements for Sikh pilgrims during the celebrations. She said that special attention has been paid to the maintenance, renovation, and security of all Gurdwaras to facilitate the visiting devotees.
