LAHORE – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has rejected the 27th Constitutional Amendment, stating that granting judicial immunity to any individual is un-Islamic. He called for Pakistan’s governance system to be realigned with the vision of its founding fathers, emphasizing that the country was established on the principle of Allah’s sovereignty.
In a statement, Hafiz Naeem stressed that mutual consultation and dialogue among national stakeholders would benefit the nation. He lamented that even after 78 years of independence, Pakistan’s political and legal systems have strayed from the ideals envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Highlighting the sacrifices made during the Pakistan Movement, he said the creation of the country was driven by the desire for Islamic justice and governance. Muslims participated wholeheartedly, leaving behind homes and ancestral lands, to establish a state grounded in divine sovereignty and collective equality.
Hafiz Naeem reiterated that the slogan “Pakistan ka matlab kya? La ilaha illallah” represents a complete system of life, where no power or government has the right to sovereignty other than Allah. He urged that Pakistan’s political and legal system be restored to its original ideological and constitutional direction.
