SHIKARPUR: At least five people, including four members of the same family, were killed in a rocket and gun attack in Goth Bechanji near Chak town on Wednesday night, police said. The victims have been identified as Abdul Khaliq Shar, his two sons Khalid and Raja Shar, his brother Abdul Sattar Shar, and a guest, Abdul Jabbar Shar.
Authorities said the attack stemmed from an old enmity. The bodies have been transferred to the hospital for post-mortem, while police launched a prompt operation against the assailants. Two attackers were reportedly killed in the encounter, and several others were injured.

Shikarpur SSP Shahzeb Chachar confirmed that the deceased and injured were involved in the incident and assured that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands. Additional security forces have been deployed to the area.
A search operation is ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects. The area has been cordoned off as police continue efforts to bring the culprits to justice. Authorities urged residents to cooperate with the ongoing investigation
