Ferry company apologizes after adult film accidentally airs to children

Children in shock after adult film mistakenly played on ferry
SUSSEX – DFDS, a ferry operator, has issued a formal apology after children onboard one of its vessels were exposed to an adult film while travelling from Dieppe, France, to Newhaven, Sussex. The incident occurred at the end of October, leaving some young passengers “screaming” and parents alarmed.

According to the company, the adult film was mistakenly broadcast on lounge televisions just after an F1 grand prix concluded. A passenger described the shocking scene, saying children ran out of the lounge screaming while parents demanded staff rectify the situation immediately.

DFDS stated that the crew was unaware that the film was scheduled to air and acted quickly to change the channel once alerted. The company emphasized it was “very sorry” for the distress caused and confirmed that the channel has since been removed from the vessel’s available stations.

The incident reportedly happened during a technical delay when the ferry was sent back to France from Newhaven. DFDS assured passengers that measures have been put in place to prevent such a mistake from occurring again, emphasizing the company’s commitment to family-friendly entertainment.

Passengers described the event as “disturbing,” highlighting the importance of careful content monitoring in public areas, especially where children are present.
