Jordan’s King Abdullah II set for key two-day Pakistan visit

Published on: November 14, 2025 7:12 PM

Islamabad, Nov 14, 2025: Jordan’s King Abdullah II will arrive in Pakistan on Saturday for a two-day state visit. He will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Arif Alvi to discuss bilateral ties. The visit aims to strengthen political, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The Foreign Office stated that the visit reflects the “longstanding, fraternal relations” between Islamabad and Amman. During his last visit, both nations signed memoranda on civil protection, defense, and housing cooperation. The upcoming meetings are expected to further elevate strategic relations.

A special investiture ceremony will be held at the Presidency to confer Pakistan’s highest civilian award upon King Abdullah II. The monarch will also participate in high-level discussions covering the full spectrum of bilateral relations.

In late October, King Abdullah praised Pakistan’s military for contributions to regional peace during a meeting with Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Jordan. The ISPR said the king expressed interest in strengthening defense collaboration between the two nations.

Officials emphasized that the visit will consolidate Pakistan–Jordan relations and expand cooperation in multiple areas. Analysts expect new agreements to enhance trade, defense, and cultural ties between Islamabad and Amman.
