Pakistan-Indonesia trade momentum continues, hits $4.2bn

Published on: November 20, 2025 3:43 PM

Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Indonesia reached $4.2 billion in 2024 and continues to grow in 2025. From January to September this year, trade amounted to $2.92 billion, up from $2.69 billion in the same period last year, reflecting strong economic engagement, said Indonesia’s Consul General Mudzakir MA.

Speaking at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mudzakir noted that despite growth, the trade basket remains narrow. He highlighted untapped opportunities in textiles, Halal products, agriculture, food items, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, technology, and digital innovation.

The envoy said expanding into these sectors could further boost bilateral trade and diversify economic ties. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between businesses in both countries to maximize growth potential.

Mudzakir also announced that an Indonesian business delegation will visit Karachi for the International Consumer Product Fair (ICPF) from December 11 to 14. The delegation will showcase Indonesia’s export potential across various industries and engage in B2B meetings with local firms.

He encouraged KCCI members to participate in the event and connect with the visiting companies. The move aims to strengthen commercial partnerships and explore new avenues for trade expansion between Pakistan and Indonesia.
