Warner Bros. publicity veteran Robert Pietranton dies at 56

Beloved Warner Bros. Publicity Head Robert Pietranton passed away in LA
LOS ANGELES: Robert Pietranton, a highly respected publicity executive at Warner Bros. Television, has passed away at the age of 56 at his home in Los Angeles. Pietranton’s career spanned over two decades, during which he became a cornerstone of the studio’s publicity and communications efforts.

Joining Warner Bros. TV after stints at NBC, DreamWorks Television, and Sony Pictures TV, Pietranton rose to the role of Senior Vice President of publicity and communications in 2021. He was widely admired for his strategic instincts, steady leadership, and mentorship of younger colleagues, guiding campaigns for hundreds of shows including ER, The West Wing, Ted Lasso, The Big Bang Theory, Abbott Elementary, and the CW’s Arrow-verse series.

Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, remembered Pietranton as “the heart and soul” of the publicity division, calling him a trusted adviser, “our voice of reason,” and a cherished friend whose “kindness and warm laugh will be deeply missed.”

A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Pietranton began his career at Levine Schneider PR and quickly became known for his dedication to colleagues and commitment to shaping impactful campaigns in the television industry.

He is survived by his brother, Ryan, and nephews Michael and Matthew. Details for a celebration of life will be shared in the coming weeks.
