KARACHI: Pakistani pop sensation Asim Azhar has finally released his first independent album, Asim Ali, which reportedly became the country’s most pre-saved album to date. The 10-track album dropped last night, featuring songs such as Asim Ali, Khabbay Sajjay, Na Ja, Changes, Lost n Found, Sugar Rush, Jind Mahi, Pari, U Got This, and Strangers.

Azhar shared a touching video hours before the release, playing the final masters for his mother—a tradition he maintains with all his projects. He revealed that many of the songs were written during his most vulnerable moments, with some dating back six or seven years.

“This album has songs that were written in my most vulnerable & honest state. Maine kabhi nahi socha tha ye gaanay aap log sunege (I never thought you guys would listen to it),” he said. The album announcement coincided with Azhar’s birthday on October 29, when he revealed that Asim Ali is also a nod to his real name.

on my 29th birthday today, i want to introduce you to someone special. Ab tak Asim Azhar ko jaante thay, ab Asim Ali se milne ki baari hai. My truest & realist form. Finally yours soon.

I need a guy to write songs about me the same way Asim Azhar wrote Asim Ali.

He admitted being unable to sleep from excitement and nerves as he awaited listener reactions. Early responses suggest fans are highly appreciative, praising the honesty and relatability of the tracks. Some even called him “the Taylor Swift of Pakistan” for the emotional depth of his songwriting.

Before the album’s release, the track Strangers, featuring rapper Talha Anjum, had already captured attention and lived up to expectations. Fans noted the album as a personal and creative milestone for Azhar, marking his first independent project after years of hit singles and major-label collaborations.

Asim Ali is being hailed as a raw, honest, and unfiltered representation of Azhar, offering listeners a glimpse of the artist behind the pop star persona. With his previous fan favourites such as Tere Bin Nahi Lagda and Meri Zindagi Hai Tu, Azhar looks poised to create yet another hit, this time from his own independent journey.

Song 4— Changes: At this point, everyone can guess this album is a complete timeline of Asim Azhar’s break up with Hania, rebound with Merub & patch up with Hania.
I feel bad for Merub at this point.
