Fawad and Mahira reunite in poetic romance Neelofar

Published on: November 24, 2025 2:14 PM

Neelofar is set in Lahore, which is to Fawad Khan, the ‘quintessential city of romance’

LAHORE: Fans of Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan are in for a treat as the popular on-screen pair reunites in the upcoming romantic film Neelofar. Set against the winter-lit streets of Lahore, the movie tells the story of Neelofar, a visually impaired girl, and Mansoor Ali Khan, a celebrated poet whose life she transforms with her curiosity, joy, and inner beauty.

In one key scene, Mahira’s character blindfolds Fawad’s, turning a playful game of hide and seek into a heartfelt moment that perfectly captures the essence of their relationship. Director Ammar Rasool shared that the actors’ natural expressions, including an unscripted fall, added magic to the scene, giving audiences a glimpse of the authentic chemistry between the two stars.

Mahira Khan described portraying a visually impaired character as a “dream role,” emphasizing her research with visually impaired individuals to ensure authenticity. Fawad, who also served as the film’s producer, praised Mahira’s dedication and highlighted how her real-life energy enhanced her portrayal. The duo’s camaraderie and rapport have become central to the film’s buzz, with social media glimpses of their promotions showcasing laughter, selfies, and lively interactions with fans.

Unlike their previous projects together, Neelofar focuses on romance without melodrama or action. Rasool explained that the film celebrates Neelofar’s individuality and the poetry of everyday love, with Lahore itself playing a character-like role, providing a picturesque and romantic backdrop. The soundtrack, composed by Zeeshan Vicky Haider, complements the narrative, promising audiences an immersive cinematic experience.
