Pakistan has urged Afghanistan to prevent its territory from being used by TTP militants. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Kabul’s claim of arresting a few TTP members is insufficient. He stressed that peace depends on full action, not just limited arrests of militants.
During a press conference in Islamabad, Dar detailed his recent visits to Kabul, Moscow, Bahrain, and Brussels. He said Afghan officials promised cooperation on counterterrorism but failed to fully act against TTP threats. Dar emphasized that Pakistan wants TTP moved away from the border or handed over to Pakistani authorities.

He explained that Pakistan aims to stop Afghan soil from being used for attacks inside Pakistan. Dar added that Islamabad highlighted the ongoing rise in terrorism despite Afghanistan’s limited action. He warned that half measures will not secure peace or protect Pakistani citizens from cross-border attacks.
In Brussels, Dar briefed the European Union on Pakistan-Afghanistan security concerns. He said misinformation about Pakistan and Afghanistan has circulated widely, which the EU now understands correctly. The FM also discussed Kashmir, the Indus Water Treaty, and regional security during strategic dialogues.

Dar concluded that Pakistan has acted in good faith, but full Afghan compliance is critical. He reiterated that Pakistan’s priority is peace, border security, and preventing terrorism from spreading. The government will continue diplomatic efforts while emphasizing that mere arrests are not enough.
