LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has approved the bail petition of religious scholar and public speaker Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza, granting him relief in the case registered against him.
The verdict was announced after a detailed hearing in which the court reviewed the arguments presented by both the defense and the prosecution.

According to court sources, the petition was filed following concerns raised by Mirza’s legal team about the nature of the allegations and the circumstances of his arrest. They argued that the case lacked substantial evidence and that Mirza had fully cooperated with the investigative authorities from the beginning.

During the hearing, the bench questioned the prosecution regarding the grounds on which the charges were made and the progress of the investigation. Officials were asked to explain whether there was any material suggesting Mirza posed a threat or risk of non-cooperation if granted bail.

Following the arguments, the court concluded that the legal requirements for bail had been met and subsequently approved the petition. The ruling comes as a significant development for Mirza’s supporters, who had been closely following the case and calling for a fair judicial process.

Security outside the court remained tight as police were deployed to ensure a peaceful environment during the proceedings. No untoward incident was reported, and the hearing concluded smoothly.

Legal experts say the decision reflects the court’s commitment to evaluating cases strictly on merit and evidence. They maintain that the approval of bail does not determine guilt or innocence but ensures that the accused can continue legal proceedings without being detained unnecessarily.

The detailed order of the court is expected to be issued soon, following which further legal steps may be taken depending on the progression of the case. Mirza’s legal team expressed satisfaction with the verdict and reiterated their confidence in the judicial process.
