Pakistan set a goal to raise trade with Kyrgyzstan from $15 million to $200 million within two years. The target followed the signing of major agreements in Islamabad. Both leaders said the deals would push economic cooperation to a new level.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Sadyr Zhaparov oversaw the signing of 15 MoUs across several sectors. These sectors included mining, energy, geosciences, culture and tourism. Moreover, both capitals were officially declared twin cities to deepen public ties. The leaders stressed that the agreements reflected strong political will.

Shehbaz Sharif called the visit historic and important for future cooperation. He said Pakistan valued its partnership with Kyrgyzstan and aimed to boost regional trade. Furthermore, he noted that the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum would create new commercial opportunities. He added that enhanced connectivity would support youth programs and energy linkages.
President Zhaparov thanked Pakistan for its warm welcome and praised ongoing cooperation. He said Kyrgyzstan viewed Pakistan as a trusted partner in South Asia. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of the CASA-1000 energy project for regional electricity needs. He also expressed hope for deeper collaboration in education, science and transport.

Zhaparov commended joint counter-terrorism efforts and said both states shared similar global views. He stressed that cooperation would expand as new projects advanced. Finally, he invited the Pakistani prime minister to visit Kyrgyzstan and continue the dialogue.
