Lt Gen (R) Faiz Hameed Handed 14-Year Jail Term by Military Court

Published on: December 11, 2025 1:12 PM

Faiz Hameed

Former Director General of ISI, Lt. Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. The verdict follows a 15-month-long field general court martial trial.

The trial began on August 12, 2024, examining four serious charges against Faiz Hameed. These charges included involvement in political activities and breaches of military conduct.

The court also cited violations of the Official Secrets Act, highlighting Hameed’s alleged disregard for security protocols and military regulations.

The Field General Court Martial meticulously reviewed evidence and testimonies over 15 months. The process was overseen by the Inspectorate of Court Proceedings and Records (ICPR) to ensure legal and procedural compliance.

This sentencing comes alongside investigations into Hameed’s alleged misconduct in the Top City housing scheme case. The Supreme Court had directed a formal inquiry into the matter.

The case involves accusations of an unauthorized raid in May 2017 at the Top City office and residence of Kunwar Khan. Confiscated items reportedly included gold, diamonds, and cash.

Petitions also allege that Hameed and retired ISI officials exerted undue pressure on Kunwar Khan for financial gain and media support. Investigations continue into the unlawful takeover of the housing society.
