Police said two families from Kashmore district in Sindh were living in the house at the time of the attack. Unidentified assailants hurled a hand grenade into the courtyard, which detonated immediately, killing the child on the spot and injuring five others. The injured include three children and two women.

Authorities rushed to the scene after receiving reports and shifted the deceased and injured to the district hospital. The boy who died was identified as Sher Ali, while the injured were named as four-year-old Imam Din, eight-year-old Muhammad Ali, Noor Uddin, Sonari Bibi, and Rabia Bibi.

Abdul Wahab, SHO of Wadh City police station, said the house was occupied by two brothers with their families, who were working as farm labourers in the area. He confirmed that an investigation had been launched to determine the motive behind the attack and to identify those responsible.

Local residents expressed shock over the incident and demanded enhanced security in the area. Police have cordoned off the site and are collecting evidence, including statements from neighbours and eyewitnesses, to trace the perpetrators.
