Pakistan announces Under-19 squad for World Cup and tri-nation series

Pakistan squad for Under-19 World Cup, tri-nation series announced
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the national squad for the ICC Under-19 World Cup and the upcoming tri-nation series, maintaining Farhan Yousaf as captain. The squad sees a single change, with Umar Zaib replacing Mohammad Huzifa.

The selected team includes Usman Khan, Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Hassan Baloch, Ali Raza, Daniyal Ali Khan, Hamza Zohar, Huzifa Ahsan, Umar Zaib, Momin Qamar, Mohammad Siyam, Mohammad Shayan, Naqab Shafiq, and Sameer Minhas. PCB officials expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform on the international stage.

The tri-nation series will be hosted in Zimbabwe from December 25 to January 6, featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the host nation. The young Pakistan side is scheduled to play at least four matches in the series, culminating in the final on January 6. This tournament will provide valuable preparation ahead of the ICC Under-19 World Cup.

The ICC Under-19 World Cup will be held from January 15 to February 6 across venues in Namibia and Zimbabwe. Pakistan’s squad will look to build on its past successes and make a strong showing in both competitions. Coaches and selectors have highlighted the importance of team cohesion, skill development, and adapting to international conditions in the lead-up to the tournaments.

Farhan Yousaf, the team captain, expressed his excitement about leading the side in both events. He emphasized the squad’s determination to perform at the highest level and make the nation proud.
