PM claims Pakistan taught India an unforgettable lesson

Published on: December 18, 2025 12:52 PM

Pakistan delivered lasting lesson to Modi-led India in May conflict, says PM - Islamabad Post
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM)  Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday stated that Pakistan delivered an unforgettable lesson to the Modi government during the Pakistan-India conflict. Speaking at a ceremony at the University of Haripur to inaugurate the PM’s Laptop Scheme 2025 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), he praised the resilience of the Pakistani armed forces and the nation’s unwavering support.

The premier referred to the conflict as “Marka-e-Haq” or the Battle of Truth, stating that Pakistan achieved victory with the prayers and support of its people. He claimed that India, from Delhi to Mumbai, would never forget this defeat. The confrontation in May erupted after India launched an unprovoked attack following the killing of 26 tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which New Delhi blamed on Pakistan — a charge Islamabad denied, calling for a neutral investigation.

During the 87-hour conflict, Pakistan downed six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale jets, along with multiple drones. The war concluded on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States.

PM Shehbaz also praised the people of KP for their resilience and sacrifices in fighting terrorism, saying their efforts contributed to peace and stability in the country. He announced the expansion of the PM Laptop Scheme 2025 across the province, highlighting the role of youth in driving national development.

Touching on economic matters, the premier claimed that Pakistan had been saved from bankruptcy through hard work and emphasized that the economy was now stabilizing. He stressed national unity as essential for progress, saying, “When all the four provinces develop, the country will develop.”
