Netflix teases Peaky Blinders cinematic comeback

Published on: December 25, 2025 3:00 PM

Netflix has released the first trailer for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, thrilling fans worldwide. The movie will premiere in theaters on March 6, 2026, and stream globally on Netflix from March 20, 2026. The film marks the highly anticipated return of Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, stepping back into the dark, morally complex world of post-war Birmingham.

The trailer hints at a darker, introspective chapter in Tommy’s life, exploring the lingering consequences of war, power struggles, and personal choices. Murphy’s reprisal brings the brooding intensity fans adore, reaffirming why Tommy Shelby remains one of television’s most iconic characters. His return follows a critically acclaimed, Oscar-winning performance as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer (2023).

Created by Steven Knight, Peaky Blinders first aired in 2013 on BBC Two and became a global phenomenon. The series followed the Shelby family navigating crime, politics, and personal betrayal in post–World War I Birmingham. Its sharp writing, bold visuals, and historical-fiction blend earned it critical acclaim and a lasting fan base.

The Immortal Man continues the story from the series finale, delving deeper into Tommy Shelby’s psyche and the consequences of his actions. Knight teased a more personal, psychological journey for the character, promising a cinematic scale that maintains the gritty, immersive style of the original series.
