Speaking to the media, Governor Tessori said Pakistan could achieve stability and development by following the golden principles laid down by Quaid-i-Azam. He added that Pakistan’s firm stance against extremism had gained global recognition.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the life of Quaid-i-Azam offered enduring lessons in public service, justice, constitutional supremacy and rule of law. He said the founder’s message of unity, faith and discipline continued to guide the nation and paid tribute to leaders who contributed to Pakistan’s creation, including Liaquat Ali Khan.

Mayor Wahab laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum on behalf of Karachi’s citizens, while members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, led by opposition leader Ali Khurshidi, also visited and offered fateha. Mr Khurshidi said Quaid-i-Azam envisioned a welfare state with equal rights for all citizens.
