Yash's 'Toxic' Unveils First Look of Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth (Exclusive) - IMDb

Indian actress Huma Qureshi has revealed her dark and gothic avatar as Elizabeth in the upcoming pan-Indian film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, adding fresh intrigue to a project that has already generated significant buzz.

The first look of Qureshi’s character was unveiled by the makers on Monday, offering a glimpse into the film’s moody and unsettling world. Set against a graveyard backdrop, the image shows Qureshi standing among old tombstones and stone angels, dressed in an off-shoulder black outfit and positioned beside a vintage car. Her calm yet eerie presence suggests that Elizabeth is a complex character, carrying emotional and psychological depth rather than fitting into a conventional mould.

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead role, with Kiara Advani also playing a key part. The film has remained in the spotlight since the first look of Kiara’s character was released earlier, and Qureshi’s striking transformation has further heightened anticipation among fans and industry watchers alike.

Known for her fearless approach to challenging roles, Huma Qureshi appears to be continuing that trajectory with Elizabeth. Her casting has drawn attention due to the film’s dark tone, ambitious scale and its positioning as a stylised, genre-bending narrative aimed at mature audiences.

The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, who described Qureshi as a “powerhouse of talent.” The director added that her performance in Toxic could mark a significant turning point in her on-screen career, underlining the importance of her role within the story.

Scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, the film’s launch will coincide with several regional festivals, a timing often considered favourable for major releases. With its gothic visuals, high-profile cast and promise of a layered narrative, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films of the coming year.
