Millie Bobby Brown opens up about plastic surgery rumours

Published on: December 29, 2025 10:11 PM

Millie Bobby Brown has shared how rumours about her undergoing plastic surgery took a heavy toll on her mental health, describing days of depression and constant crying during the wave of speculation. The Stranger Things star recalled feeling overwhelmed by invasive headlines and unwarranted scrutiny that affected her deeply as a young actress in the public eye.

Speaking to British Vogue, the 21-year-old actress said the negative attention felt like bullying, especially for young girls entering the industry. She criticized headlines that immediately judged her appearance, explaining that such coverage can have a damaging emotional impact on emerging talent.

Brown emphasized that the criticism became personal, as fans and media questioned her changing looks and choices. She said, “For some reason people can’t seem to grow up with me. Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time,” highlighting the unrealistic expectations placed on public figures.

The actress also recalled the March press tour for The Electric State, where rumours about going under the knife circulated widely. Despite enjoying her career and media work, Brown said the invasive coverage during that period caused significant emotional distress and anxiety.
