In Azad Kashmir, rain and snowfall continued for the third consecutive day. Snowfall remained heavy in Neelum and Leepa valleys, while Muzaffarabad experienced intermittent rain, causing some link roads to close due to unsafe conditions.

The Galiyat region of Abbottabad also saw snowfall on the first day of the new year. Power supply along the Abbottabad–Murree Road was suspended due to slippery conditions, while Shogran recorded over five inches of snow.

Kaghan district received more than two inches of snowfall, adding to travel challenges. Authorities urged tourists and residents to use caution and equip vehicles with iron chains when traveling in snowfall-hit areas.

Weather officials forecast that intermittent rain and snow are likely to continue throughout the day, further intensifying cold conditions across northern Punjab, Islamabad, and Azad Kashmir, affecting both locals and tourists.
